Is Dr. Garber accepting new clients or patients?

Yes. Dr. Garber has never closed his practice to new clients or patients.

Dr. Garber is available in his Merrimack, New Hampshire, office Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until after 5:00 p.m. Anticipated absences will be clarified on his voice mail.

Because Dr. Garber works in his several different roles primarily with children, after-school and after-work appointments can be scarce during the school year. By compromising on optimal times and scheduling ahead, it is routinely possible to move forward with services quickly and efficiently.

What's the real difference between
clinical and forensic services?

Clinical services are intended to help one or more individuals to relieve distress, improve functioning and/or facilitate healthy relationships.

Forensic ("court involved") services are intended to help the court answer a question via evaluation, education and/or intervention.

Dr. Garber is restricted to serve in one capacity at a time, and may be ineligible to serve in a new capacity later, after first fulfilling another.

Dr. Garber will always take the time to educate new callers about these distinctions and the various types of clinical and forensic roles.

For example: When parents are highly conflicted, separated and/or divorcing, children often suffer. Callers in this situation often reach Dr. Garber seeking therapeutic support for the child, help for the co-parents, evaluation and education regarding custodial outcomes for  the court and expert opinion intended to bolster their attorney's presentation.

This  desperate request for multiple services is most common when a caregiver fears losing contact with a child in the belief that another caregiver is alienating the child  Which hat to wear?

Dr. Garber may be able to provide therapy to the child OR to help the conflicted co-parents to better communicate OR conduct a CCFE OR serve as expert witness OR GAL OR (later, once the litigation is settled) to serve as Parent Coordinator, but can only serve in one of these roles.

Practical realities often bear on deciding which among several roles Dr. Garber might fulfill. For example, it is often much easier to find a child therapist in New Hampshire than a co-parenting facilitator or custody evaluator.
